Uma tarde para debater, com o poder público e a sociedade em geral, o racismo estrutural. O encontro aconteceu no Espaço da Mulher, no Paço Municipal, nesta segunda-feira (20), Dia da Consciência Negra. A Coordenadoria de Promoção à Cidadania LGBT e Igualdade Racial e a Secretaria Extraordinária de Políticas Públicas para as Mulheres (SEPPM) convidaram as juristas Carla Uedler Moreira e Francisca Leite para ministrar a palestra ‘Racismo estrutural e suas consequências na sociedade’.
Um momento de muito aprendizado e troca de experiência, no dia tão importante para a população negra, como frisou Geraldo Filho, coordenador de Promoção à Cidadania LGBT e Igualdade Racial de João Pessoa. “O Dia da Consciência Negra é de extrema importância para a população negra, indígena, cigana e quilombola, por isso temos que celebrar e debater temas importantes como esse, que é o racismo estrutural. A população negra sofreu e sofre até hoje muito preconceito, então, o poder público tem que abrir espaços para debater esses assuntos e se colocar à disposição dessa população, que tanto fez e faz pelo desenvolvimento do nosso país. Vale ressaltar ainda que a grande maioria da população de João Pessoa é preta ou parda”, frisou.
Palestrantes – A advogada Carla Uedler Moreira é especialista em direito antidiscriminatório, pós-graduada em prática judicante pela Universidade Estadual da Paraíba (UEPB) e pós-graduada no curso de formação para magistratura pela Escola Superior de Magistratura (ESMA/PB). Atualmente, Carla Uedler atua como secretária geral da Comissão de Combate ao Racismo e Discriminação Racial na Ordem dos Advogados – Seccional Paraíba (OAB-PB).
A outra palestrante foi a advogada Francisca Leite, diretora da Comissão Nacional da Verdade da Escravidão Negra do Conselho Federal da OAB-PB, ouvidora da Rede de Sororidade também da OAB-PB, membro das Comissões de Combate ao Racismo e Discriminação Racial da OAB-PB, de Combate à Violência contra a Mulher e do Conselho de Igualdade Racial de João Pessoa. Francisca é especialista em Direito Civil e Processo Civil.
Racismo estrutural – É a discriminação racial sistemática presente nas estruturais sociais, sejam institucionais, políticas ou econômicas. Trata-se do tipo de racismo que já faz parte da cultura de um povo e contribui para a perpetuação de desigualdades.
Alguns exemplos de racismo estrutural: falta de representatividade política, na mídia ou empresas, baixo percentual de formação universitária, violência urbana, palavras racistas na língua portuguesa, entre outras situações.
