A Prefeitura de Sorocaba, por meio da Secretaria da Educação (Sedu), deu início, na manhã desta terça-feira (5), à construção de mais uma escola no município. Será um Centro de Educação Infantil (CEI), no bairro Santa Rosa, na Zona Norte de Sorocaba, localizado na Rua Romão Fernandes, esquina com a Avenida Fúlvio Cláudio Biazzi.
A obra era aguardada, há anos, pela população local. O projeto prevê a construção de 10 salas de aula, com capacidade para atender até 188 alunos. Entre as moradoras que aguardam ansiosas pela construção está a munícipe Érika do Nascimento Souza. Mãe de cinco filhos, sendo o mais velho com 16 anos e a mais nova uma bebê de três meses, ela considera que, futuramente, a caçula irá se beneficiar da proximidade do CEI que agora já começa a sair do papel para, em breve, se tornar uma realidade para todos. “É uma realização importante não só para mim e para minha família, mas para muitos dos moradores que vivem nesta região e precisam dessa escola”, falou Érika.
Durante a cerimônia de início de obra, estiveram presentes o prefeito e os secretários da Educação e de Serviços Públicos e Obras, além do ouvidor-geral do Município, o comandante da Guarda Civil Municipal (GCM), e o empresário Osiris Diniz.
Entre as 17 novas escolas, cujos projetos estão em andamento na atual gestão, três já foram entregues, sendo um na Vila Amália, um no Jardim Novo Horizonte, ambos na Zona Norte, e um no bairro Iporanga II, na Zona Industrial da cidade. A atual construção, no bairro Santa Rosa, é a quarta unidade em andamento, sendo que outras unidades também já estão em projeto de execução.
