Um policial militar de folga salvou um homem que se engasgou em um restaurante na rodovia Washington Luís, em Araraquara, no interior de São Paulo, no último dia 24. Imagens de câmera de segurança do estabelecimento registraram a ação.
O cabo Lucas Carvalho, de 25 anos, contou que tinha acabado de chegar com a esposa no local, quando percebeu que a vítima estava engasgada com um pedaço de carne. “Vi um rapaz engasgado e uma pessoa tentando fazer a manobra, mas sem sucesso, aí eu pedi para tentar”, disse.
Segundo ele, o homem fazia muita força na musculatura, o que dificultou a manobra. Foi preciso fazer cerca de 20 movimentos para que a vítima conseguisse desengasgar.
“Pedi para o rapaz relaxar, mas ele estava muito desesperado, ficando sem ar. Teve um momento em que ele perdeu a força, sendo obrigado a relaxar, aí consegui expelir a carne”, explicou o cabo Carvalho, que atua no 13°BPM/I (Batalhão de Polícia Militar do Interior).
Para o policial, que está há cinco anos na corporação, ter conseguido ajudar o homem foi “gratificante”. “A gente aprende primeiros socorros na academia de polícia e a Manobra de Heimlich é uma das primeiras coisas a serem ensinadas. Sou grato por usar o que aprendi na corporação”, concluiu.
