Agência Minas Gerais | Cemig é incluída mais uma vez no Índice Carbon Clean200

A Cemig recebeu mais um importante reconhecimento: foi novamente incluída no Carbon Clean200, ranking global anual que lista as 200 empresas de capital aberto que lideram iniciativas de soluções de transição para um futuro de energia limpa.

Diversos países estão representados na edição de 2024 do Clean200, e a Cemig faz parte da lista ao lado de gigantes como Iberdrola, Apple, Tesla, HP, Microsoft e Samsung.

A iniciativa – que foi lançada em 2016 e está em seu oitavo ano – reconhece as duas centenas de empresas de capital aberto que obtiveram as receitas mais sustentáveis do planeta.

Essas empresas passam por criteriosas avaliações sociais e ambientais para participarem do ranking. Somente dez marcas brasileiras foram incluídas na lista. A Cemig consta na categoria “Utilities”, junto de outras 26 companhias que atuam nesse setor em todo o mundo.

Adiéliton Galvão de Freitas, gerente de Sustentabilidade da Cemig, comemora mais essa conquista e reafirma que a empresa mais uma vez demonstra seu compromisso sustentável com clientes, investidores e sociedade.

“Fazer parte deste índice é motivo de comemoração e orgulho para a companhia”, declara o gerente. “Trata-se de mais um reconhecimento importante, que nos dá fôlego e força para continuar trabalhando firmemente para evoluir e crescer cada vez mais de forma sustentável e responsável”, completa Adiéliton.

A Carbon Clean200 é uma joint venture entre a As You Sow – uma empresa líder em defesa de acionistas, sem fins lucrativos, que promove investimentos alinhados a valores sustentáveis, e a Corporate Knights – empresa de pesquisa e mídia que capacita as pessoas a investirem em mercados rumo a um mundo melhor.

“Em 2016, criamos o Clean200 em resposta aos investidores que diziam: ‘se alienarmos os combustíveis fósseis, não há nada para investir’”, diz Andrew Behar, CEO da As You Sow e coautor do relatório.

“O Clean200 demonstrou consistentemente que o que chamávamos de ‘futuro de energia limpa’ é agora a energia limpa presente. Este ano, a escala e a diversidade global das empresas líderes continuam a se expandir e redefinir o termo tecnologia limpa para qualquer empresa que tenha produtos e serviços que reduzam a demanda por combustíveis fósseis e água”, conclui o executivo.
